Amid the ongoing online debate, the actress recently shared glimpses of her birthday celebrations on Instagram. Her post featured multiple photos from the intimate bash, along with a heartfelt note that read, “My heart is full. Thank you all for the love, the wishes, and for making my 50th truly special. A special thank you to the wonderful people who helped me plan and create such a beautiful celebration.”
The post quickly went viral, drawing thousands of reactions. While many fans showered her with love and birthday wishes, the comments section was dominated by users questioning her age. One wrote, “50?? I thought she was 52. Born in ‘73,” while another commented, “You’re gorgeous, but how come you’re 50? You were born in 1973, right? Just own it — you look amazing at 52 or even 54!” A third user quipped, “Agle saal 48 ho jana… do saal pehle bhi 50th, this year also 50th.”

Although the actress has remained tight-lipped about the renewed age debate, she has previously spoken about being age-shamed online. A few months ago, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Malaika admitted that being called “buddhi” (old woman) often triggers her. She said, “For me, ‘buddhiya’ — how can you even say something like that to somebody? Kabhi kabhi ye trigger karta hai (Sometimes, it triggers me) because it’s extremely insensitive. People only see the brave persona. They think ‘khush lag rahi hai’ (she looks happy), but they don’t realize there are so many things that can actually trigger or upset you.”
