Bobby Deol reveals Dillagi is his favorite film; says, “I would love some of those films to be re-released”
Bobby Deol, enjoying a career resurgence, expressed a heartfelt wish to see his 1999 film Dillagi, one of his most cherished projects, return to the big screen.
In an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, Bobby Deol revealed that Dillagi remains one of his favorite projects. He said, “Some of the films that don't do well at the box office become cult films for you. Your audience and fans suddenly start loving the same film that didn't do well at the box office. So I would love some of those films to be re-released.” The 55-year-old actor shared his appreciation for how certain films gain a lasting following over time.
He added, “My favourite film is Dillagi. My brother directed it (Sunny Deol). It had great music, a great storyline, and it was his first time as a director. I loved that film, not only because my brother directed it but also because of the way it was. I wish people could see that again.”
In addition to Dillagi, Bobby Deol also expressed his desire to see other films from his career back on the big screen. He mentioned, “The other films are still evergreen because people still love the songs from Soldier, Gupt, Bichhoo. Kareeb was also a beautiful film that later became a cult classic. People continue to talk about how much they love the film, and the music was great too. So, I think these films should be re-released.”
Currently, the actor is promoting his upcoming film Kanguva, where he will make his debut in the South film industry. The movie, starring Suriya and Disha Patani, is set to release on November 14.
