Kareena Kapoor Khan reveals Karisma Kapoor was Raj Kapoor’s favourite grandchild due to their matching blue eyes, Karishma says, “After me, Taimur and Raha got those eyes”

Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor recently made an appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, where they reminisced about their childhood and talked about their grandfather, the legendary actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor. Kareena shared that Karisma was Raj Kapoor’s favorite grandchild, attributing this special bond to the fact that they both had the same eye color.

In a conversation with Kapil Sharma, Kareena said, “Karisma was always his favourite grandchild because her eye colour matched that of Dadaji: The blue eyes. And also she was the first grandchild. So he was very excited.” Karisma added, “The interesting fact is after me, it was Taimur and then Raha; we all have same eye colour as dadaji.”

Raha Kapoor's eye color became a topic of conversation after Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor introduced her to the world on Christmas Eve.

Raj Kapoor had placed great importance on eye color, particularly when Karisma Kapoor was born. He had told Kareena and Karisma’s mother, Babita, that he would only visit the hospital after the birth of his first grandchild if the baby had blue eyes.

In the book Raj Kapoor: The One and Only Showman, written by his daughter Ritu Nanda, Babita recalled, “I remember when Lolo was born, the whole family was with me at Breach Candy Hospital, except my father-in-law. He said he would only visit if the baby had blue eyes. Thankfully, Lolo had deep blue eyes, just like him.”

Karisma and Kareena are daughters of Randhir Kapoor and Babita.
